Sélectionné dans la section Un Certain Regard au Festival de Cannes, La Tortue Rouge est un film d’animation très attendu par le public. L’histoire ? Les étapes de la vie d’un être humain à travers l’histoire d’un naufragé sur une île déserte qui se lie d’amitié avec une tortue géante. Il s’agit du premier long-métrage de Michael Dudok de Wit, dont le très poétique court Père et Fille lui avait permis de remporter un Oscar en 2000. Mais c’est surtout le grand retour du Studio Ghibli (Le Voyage de Chihiro, Mon Voisin Totoro…) qui co-produit le film en association avec Wild Bunch. A voir absolument!
Selected in Un Certain Regard at Cannes, The Red Turtle is an animated film eagerly awaited by the public. The story ? The steps in the life of a human being through the story of a castaway on a desert island who befriends a giant turtle. This is the first feature film by Michaël Dudok de Wit, whose poetic short Father and Daughter had earned him an Oscar in 2000. But it is above the return of Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, my Neighbor Totoro …) which co-produced the film in association with Wild Bunch. A must see!
